(32) “Indeed, those who disbelieve, bar others from Allah’s path, and oppose the Messenger after guidance has become clear to them will never harm Allah in the least, and He will bring their deeds to nothing.”
This is a severe warning to those who combine every kind of evil: disbelief in Allah, barring people from the path that Allah has established as leading to Him,
“and opposing the Messenger after guidance has become clear to them”—that is, they stubbornly and deliberately resist and defy him, not out of ignorance, error, or misguidance. They “will never harm Allah in the least,” for this does not diminish His dominion.
“And He will bring their deeds to nothing”—that is, the efforts they expend in supporting falsehood will yield them nothing but disappointment and loss, while the deeds for which they hope to receive reward will not be accepted because their necessary condition is absent.
