(51–52) “Indeed, We surely support Our messengers and those who believe in the life of this world and on the Day when the witnesses arise—the Day when the wrongdoers’ excuses will be of no benefit to them. The curse will be upon them, and theirs will be the woeful abode.”
After mentioning the punishment of Pharaoh’s people in this world, in the intermediate realm, and on the Day of Resurrection—and describing the dreadful condition of the people of the Fire, who opposed and fought His messengers—He said: “Indeed, We surely support Our messengers and those who believe in the life of this world”; that is, with compelling argument, clear proof, and victory, and in the Hereafter by ruling that they and their followers shall receive reward, while those who fought them shall receive severe punishment.
“The Day when the wrongdoers’ excuses will be of no benefit to them,” when they offer their excuses. “The curse will be upon them, and theirs will be the woeful abode”; that is, the evil abode that brings misery to those who dwell therein.
