(41) “Indeed, We have sent down to you the Book for mankind in truth. Whoever accepts guidance does so for his own benefit, and whoever goes astray does so only to his own detriment. You are not a guardian over them.”
Allah Most High states that He has sent down to His Messenger the Book, which contains the truth in its accounts, commands, and prohibitions. It is the source of guidance and sufficient provision for anyone who wishes to reach Allah and the abode of His honor, and through it the proof has been established against all creation.
“Whoever accepts guidance” by its light and follows its commands, the benefit of doing so returns to him. “And whoever goes astray” after guidance has become clear to him “does so only to his own detriment”; he does not harm Allah in the least. “You are not a guardian over them,” charged with keeping account of their deeds, calling them to account for them, and compelling them to do whatever you will. You are only a messenger, conveying to them what you have been commanded to deliver.
