(45–47) “And remember Our servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—men of strength and insight. * Indeed, We chose them for an exclusive quality: remembrance of the Home. * And indeed, with Us they are among the chosen and the virtuous.”
Allah Most High says: “And remember Our servants”—those who devoted their worship sincerely to Us—with honorable mention: “Abraham,” Allah’s intimate friend, “and” his son “Isaac, and” his grandson “Jacob—men of strength,” meaning strength in worshipping Allah Most High, “and insight,” meaning ⦗715⦘ insight into Allah’s religion. Thus, He described them as possessing beneficial knowledge and abundant righteous deeds.
“Indeed, We chose them for an exclusive quality”—a tremendous distinction and an immense privilege—namely, “remembrance of the Home.” We placed remembrance of the Hereafter in their hearts, made striving for it the choicest use of their time, and made sincerity toward Allah and awareness of His watchfulness their constant traits. We also made them reminders of the Hereafter, so that those seeking a reminder would be reminded by their lives, those seeking a lesson would take heed from them, and they themselves would be remembered with the highest praise.
“And indeed, with Us they are among the chosen”—those whom Allah selected from the finest of His creation—“and the virtuous,” who possess every noble character and perform upright deeds.
