16
(76) “So do not let their words grieve you. Indeed, We know what they conceal and what they reveal.”
That is: O Messenger, do not let the words of the deniers grieve you. By “their words” is meant—as the context indicates—every statement by which they disparage the Messenger or what he has brought.
In other words, do not burden your heart with grief over them: “Indeed, We know what they conceal and what they reveal.” We shall therefore recompense them according to Our knowledge of them. Their words, after all, do not harm you in the least.
