(68) “Whomever We grant long life, We reverse in creation. Will they not then understand?”
Allah Most High says: “Whomever We grant long life” from among the children of Adam, “We reverse in creation.” That is, he returns to the state in which he began: a state of weakness—weakness of mind and weakness of body. “Will they not then understand” that the human being is deficient in every respect, and therefore make the most of their strength and intellect by using them in obedience to their Lord?
﴿٦٨﴾ ﴿وَمَنْ نُعَمِّرْهُ نُنَكِّسْهُ فِي الْخَلْقِ أَفَلا يَعْقِلُونَ﴾ .
يقول تعالى: ﴿وَمَنْ نُعَمِّرْهُ﴾ من بني آدم ﴿نُنَكِّسْهُ فِي الْخَلْقِ﴾ أي: يعود إلى الحالة التي ابتدأ حالة الضعف، ضعف العقل، وضعف القوة. ﴿أَفَلا يَعْقِلُونَ﴾ أن الآدمي ناقص من كل وجه، فيتداركوا قوتهم وعقولهم، فيستعملونها في طاعة ربهم.
