(44–45) “Have they not traveled throughout the land and seen what became of those before them? They were greater than them in strength. Nothing in the heavens or ⦗692⦘ on earth could ever thwart Allah. Indeed, He is All-Knowing, All-Powerful.”
Allah Most High urges people to travel throughout the land, with both hearts and bodies, for the purpose of taking heed—not merely to look while remaining heedless. They should consider what became of those before them who denied the messengers. They possessed greater wealth and more children, were mightier in strength, and developed the land (1) more extensively than these people have. Yet when the punishment came upon them, their strength did not benefit them, nor did their wealth or children avail them against Allah in the least. Allah’s power and will were carried out against them.
“Nothing in the heavens or on earth could ever thwart Allah,” because of His perfect knowledge and power. “Indeed, He is All-Knowing, All-Powerful.”
