(7–9) “The disbelievers say, ‘Shall we direct you to a man who tells you that, after you have been utterly torn to pieces, you will indeed be created anew?’”
That is, “The disbelievers say”—in denial, mockery, and utter disbelief—and then state why they consider it so far-fetched.
In other words, they say to one another, “Shall we direct you to a man who tells you that, after you have been utterly torn to pieces, you will indeed be created anew?” By this man they mean the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. They claim that he has brought something so astonishing that he has become, in their view, a spectacle to stare at and a curiosity to mock. How, they ask, can he say, “You will be resurrected,” after decay has torn you apart, your limbs have been scattered, and your bodily parts have disintegrated?!
