“He is the One who bestows His blessings upon you, and His angels pray for you, so that He may bring you out of darkness into light. And He is ever Merciful to the believers.”
That is, out of His mercy toward the believers and His kindness to them, He has made His blessings and praise upon them, together with His angels’ prayers and supplications for them, a means of bringing them out of the darkness of sin and ignorance into the light of faith, divine enablement, knowledge, and righteous deeds. This is the greatest blessing He has bestowed upon His obedient servants. It calls upon them to give thanks for it and to remember Allah often, for He has shown them kindness and mercy. He has also caused the bearers of His Throne—the best of the angels—and those around it to glorify Him with His praise and seek forgiveness for the believers, saying:
“Our Lord, You encompass all things in mercy and knowledge, so forgive those who repent and follow Your way, and protect them from the punishment of Hellfire. Our Lord, admit them into the Gardens of Eternity which You have promised them, together with the righteous among their forefathers, spouses, and descendants. Indeed, You alone are the Almighty, the All-Wise. Protect them from the consequences of evil deeds. Whoever You protect from their consequences on that Day, You have surely shown mercy to—and that is the supreme triumph.”
Such is His mercy and blessing upon them in this world.
