(41–44) “O you who believe, remember Allah often * and glorify Him morning and evening * He is the One who bestows His blessings upon you, and His angels pray for you, so that He may bring you out of darkness into light. And He is ever Merciful to the believers.”
Allah Most High commands the believers to remember Him often by declaring His oneness, praising Him, glorifying Him, magnifying Him, and uttering every other word that draws one nearer to Allah. At the very least, a person should consistently observe the morning and evening remembrances, those recited after the five prayers, and those prescribed for particular circumstances and occasions.
One should persevere in this at all times and in every condition, for it is an act of worship by which its practitioner can outstrip others while at ease. It leads to loving Allah and knowing Him, assists one in doing good, and restrains the tongue from foul speech.
“And glorify Him morning and evening”—that is, at the beginning and end of the day, because of the virtue and honor of those times and the ease of performing this act during them.
