(44) “Allah created the heavens and the earth in truth. Surely in that is a sign for the believers.”
That is, He alone created the heavens, with all their loftiness, elevation, vastness, and beauty, and all they contain—the sun, the moon, the stars, and the angels—and the earth, with all it contains of mountains, seas, wildernesses, barren deserts, trees, and the like. He created all of this in truth: He did not create it in vain, without purpose, or to no benefit. Rather, He created it so that His command and law might be established, His favor upon His servants might be completed, and they might behold such manifestations of His wisdom, irresistible might, and governance as show them that He alone is their object of worship, their beloved, and their God. “Surely in that is a sign for the believers,” pointing to many ⦗632⦘ truths of faith. When a believer reflects upon it, he sees those truths plainly within it.
