“Sovereignty that Day belongs to Allah; He will judge between them. Those who believe and do righteous deeds will be in Gardens of Bliss. But those who disbelieve and deny Our signs will have a humiliating punishment.”
“Sovereignty that Day”—that is, on the Day of Resurrection—“belongs to Allah” Most High alone, and to no one else. “He will judge between them” with His just judgment and decisive decree. “Those who believe” in Allah, His messengers, and what they brought, “and do righteous deeds,” thereby confirming the sincerity of their faith, “will be in Gardens of Bliss”—bliss of the heart, soul, and body that no description can encompass and no mind can comprehend.
“But those who disbelieve” in Allah and His messengers and deny His signs, which guide to truth and rectitude, turning away from them or stubbornly opposing them, “will have a humiliating punishment.” Its severity, its pain, and its reaching into the very hearts will humiliate them. Just as they treated His messengers and His signs with contempt, Allah will humiliate them through the punishment.
