(14) “Indeed, Allah will admit those who believe and do righteous deeds into Gardens beneath which rivers flow. Indeed, Allah does whatever He wills.”
Having mentioned those who argue in support of falsehood and explained that they are of two kinds—blind followers and those who call others to it—Allah states that those who identify themselves as believers likewise fall into two categories. The first are those whose hearts faith has not entered, as explained above. The second are true believers, whose righteous deeds attest to the faith within them. Allah therefore informs us that He (1) will admit them into Gardens beneath which rivers flow.
The janna (Paradise) is so named because it contains dwellings, palaces, trees, and vegetation whose profusion conceals and screens those within it. “Indeed, Allah does whatever He wills”: whatever He wills, He does, without anyone obstructing or opposing Him. This includes bringing the people of Paradise into it. May Allah, through His grace and generosity, make us among them.
