(84) “Say, ‘Each person acts according to his own disposition, and your Lord knows best who is most rightly guided in his way.’”
That is: “Say, ‘Each person’” among mankind “acts according to his own disposition”—according to the conduct befitting him. If he is among the chosen righteous, nothing befits him but deeds devoted to the Lord of all worlds. But if he is among the forsaken, nothing suits him but deeds performed for created beings, and nothing accords with him except what serves his own desires. ⦗466⦘
“And your Lord knows best who is most rightly guided in his way.” He knows who is fit to receive guidance and guides him, and who is not fit for it, so He forsakes him and does not guide him.
