Text of the hadith:
Imām Maʿmar ibn Rāshid narrated in al-Jāmiʿ (11/409–411), which is appended to the Musannaf of ʿAbd al-Razzāq, from Zayd ibn Aslam, from ʿAṭāʾ ibn Yasār, from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī—may Allah be pleased with him—who said:
The Messenger of Allah, Allah bless him and grant him peace, said:
“When the believers have been delivered from the Fire and are now safe, by the One in whose hand is my soul, your dispute with one another over rights in this world will not be as intense as the believers’ pleading with their Lord concerning their brothers who have been cast into the Fire.
They will say, ‘Our Lord, our brothers used to pray with us, fast with us, perform the pilgrimage with us, and struggle alongside us, yet You have placed them in the Fire.’
He will say, ‘Go and bring out of it those whom you recognize among them.’
So they will go and recognize them by their faces—the Fire will not consume their faces. Some of them the Fire will have reached to mid-calf, others to the ankles—and they will bring them out.” ⦗26⦘
