That is, the punishment would have been carried out and I would have destroyed you (1)—that is, I would have hastened it in order to be rid of you. “And Allah knows best who the wrongdoers are.”
“And with Him are the keys of the unseen; none knows them except Him. He knows whatever is in the land and the sea. Not a leaf falls but He knows it, nor any grain in the depths of the earth, nor anything fresh or dry, but it is in a clear Record. (59)”

أَيْ: فَرَغَ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ [وَأَهْلَكْتُمْ] (١) أَيْ: لَعَجَّلْتُهُ حَتَّى أَتَخَلَّصَ مِنْكُمْ، ﴿وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِالظَّالِمِينَ﴾
﴿وَعِنْدَهُ مَفَاتِحُ الْغَيْبِ لَا يَعْلَمُهَا إِلَّا هُوَ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِي الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ وَمَا تَسْقُطُ مِنْ وَرَقَةٍ إِلَّا يَعْلَمُهَا وَلَا حَبَّةٍ فِي ظُلُمَاتِ الْأَرْضِ وَلَا رَطْبٍ وَلَا يَابِسٍ إِلَّا فِي كِتَابٍ مُبِينٍ (٥٩) ﴾
