Regarding His saying, “Then He accepted his repentance”: that is, He pardoned him. “Indeed, He alone is the Ever-Accepting of repentance,” accepting the repentance of His servants, “the Merciful” toward His creation.
قَوْلُهُ: ﴿فَتَابَ عَلَيْهِ﴾ فَتَجَاوَزَ عَنْهُ ﴿إِنَّهُ هُوَ التَّوَّابُ﴾ يَقْبَلُ تَوْبَةَ عِبَادِهِ ﴿الرَّحِيمُ﴾ بِخَلْقِهِ.
