‘Abd al-Wahid ibn Ahmad al-Mulayhi informed us; Ahmad ibn ‘Abd Allah al-Nu‘aymi informed us; Muhammad ibn Yusuf informed us; Muhammad ibn Isma‘il informed us; Muhammad ibn Bashshar informed us; Ghundar informed us; Shu‘bah informed us, from Abu ‘Imran, who said: I heard Anas ibn Malik narrate from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said:
“On the Day of Resurrection, Allah will say to the inhabitant of Hell who receives the least punishment: ‘If you possessed everything on earth, would you offer it as ransom?’ He will say, ‘Yes.’ Allah will say: ‘While you were yet in Adam’s loins, I required of you something easier than that: that you not associate anything with Me. Yet you refused, insisting on associating partners with Me.’” (1)
