When the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was taken on the Night Journey, he was brought to the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary, which is in the sixth heaven. There ends that which ascends from the earth, and it is received from there; and there ends that which descends from above it, and it is received from there. He said, concerning: “When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered it” (16-al-Najm): “Golden moths.” He said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was given three things: the five prayers; the closing verses of Sūrat al-Baqarah; and forgiveness for those of his community who associate nothing with Allah, even for the grave sins that lead one to ruin.
