Tafsir al-BaghawiAl-Baghawi

“Those who consume ribā will rise only as one driven to madness by Satan’s touch. That is because they say, ‘Trade is only like ribā.’ Yet Allah has permitted trade and forbidden ribā. So whoever receives an admonition from his Lord and desists may retain what has already passed, and his case rests with Allah. But whoever returns to it—such are the companions of the Fire; they shall remain therein forever. (275)

Allah obliterates ribā and increases charities, and Allah does not love any persistently ungrateful sinner. (276)

Indeed, those who believe, do righteous deeds, establish the prayer, and give zakah shall have their reward with their Lord. No fear shall come upon them, nor shall they grieve. (277)”

His saying, exalted is He: “Those who consume ribā”—that is, those who deal in it. Consumption is mentioned specifically because it is the principal purpose for which wealth is sought. “Will rise”—that is, on the Day of Resurrection, from their graves—“only as one whom Satan drives to madness,” that is, throws down. The root meaning of khabṭ is striking and trampling: it is a blow delivered without regularity. A camel is described as khabūṭ when it tramples people and strikes the ground
