Ahmad ibn Ibrahim al-Shurayhi informed us; Abu Ishaq al-Tha‘labi informed us; Muhammad ibn al-Qasim informed us; Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Abd Allah related to us; al-Hasan ibn Sufyan related to us; Ali ibn Hujr related to us; Yazid ibn Harun related to us; al-Yaman ibn al-Mughirah related to us; and Ata related from Ibn Abbas that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: “When the earth is shaken with its final earthquake” is equivalent to half of the Quran; “Say: He is Allah, the One” is equivalent to one third of the Quran; and “Say: O disbelievers” is equivalent to one quarter of the Quran. Recorded by al-Tirmidhi in Fada'il al-Quran, 8/205-206, who said: “This is a gharib hadith; we know it only through the narration of Yaman ibn al-Mughirah.” Al-Hakim declared it sound, 1/566, but al-Dhahabi criticized this, saying: “Rather, Yaman was deemed weak.” It was also recorded by al-Bayhaqi in Shu'ab al-Iman, 5/452, and Ibn Adi in al-Kamil, 7/2638. أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الشُّرَيْحِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الثَّعْلَبِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْيَمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَطَاءٌ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: " إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ " تَعْدِلُ نِصْفَ الْقُرْآنِ، " قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ "، تَعْدِلُ ثُلْثَ الْقُرْآنِ، " قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ " تَعْدِلُ رُبْعَ الْقُرْآنِ" (١) .
