Tafsir al-BaghawiAl-Baghawi

Abu Amr, Hamzah, and Hafs recited it here, and in Surah al-Humazah, with a hamzah; the others recited it without a hamzah. Both are established linguistic forms: one may say aʾsadtu al-bāba or awsadtuhu—“I shut and sealed the door.” It was also said that the form with hamzah means “sealed shut,” while the form without hamzah means “closed.” (1)

(1) Imam Abu Zur'ah Ibn Zanjalah states in his book Hujjat al-Qira'at, p. 766: “Whoever reads it with a hamzah treats it as the form muf'alah, derived from aasada al-baba, meaning, ‘I shut the door firmly,’ as in aamantu. The first root letter is a hamzah; one says: aasada yusidu isadan. Whoever omits the hamzah treats it as derived from awsada yusidu isadan, whose first root letter is waw. Al-Kisa'i said: ‘Awsadtu al-baba and aasadtuhu both mean: I closed it.’”
