Tafsir al-BaghawiAl-Baghawi

“So that he may know.” Ya‘qub recited it, “so that it may be known,” with the initial ya’ vowelled with dammah—that is, so that people may know “that the messengers have conveyed.” The other reciters read it with the initial ya’ vowelled with fathah—“so that the messenger may know that the angels have conveyed the messages of their Lord. He encompasses all that is with them”—that is, Allah knows what is with the messengers, and nothing is hidden from Him—“and He has counted everything precisely.” Ibn ‘Abbas said: He has counted what He created and knows the number of what He created; knowledge of nothing escapes Him, even the weights of atoms and mustard seeds. The word “precisely” is in the accusative as a circumstantial qualifier; or, if you wish, as a verbal noun: that is, He counted [a counting]. (1)

(1) In manuscript B: “a number.”
