It is the plural of ‘arūb: women who are loving and affectionate toward their husbands. This was stated by al-Hasan, Mujahid, Qatadah, and Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, and it is also al-Walibi’s narration from Ibn ‘Abbas.
‘Ikrimah related from him: “Coquettish.” ‘Ikrimah said: “Charming and coquettish.” Usamah ibn Zayd related from his father that ‘uruban means: “Women of beautiful speech.”
“Equal in age”: alike in age, all of one age.

Through this same chain of transmission, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “He will see his face in her cheek more clearly than in a mirror. Even the smallest pearl upon her will illuminate all that lies between east and west. She will be wearing seventy garments, through which his sight will penetrate, until he sees the marrow of her shin from behind them.” (4)
Through this same chain of transmission, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Whoever among the people of Paradise dies, young or old, will be restored in Paradise to the age of thirty, and they will never grow older than that; and the same applies to the people of Hell.” (5)
