star in the sky. Their hearts will be as one man’s heart: there will be no differences or mutual hatred among them. Each of them will have two wives, and through the flesh of each of them the marrow of her shin will be visible because of her beauty. They will glorify Allah morning and evening; they will neither fall ill, nor urinate, nor defecate, nor spit, nor blow their noses. Their vessels will be of gold and silver, their combs of gold, the fuel of their incense burners will be aloeswood, and their perspiration will be musk.” (1)
Abu Sa‘id al-Shurayhi informed us; Abu Ishaq al-Tha‘labi informed us; al-Husayn ibn Muhammad ibn al-Husayn informed us; Harun ibn Muhammad ibn Harun informed us; Hazim ibn Yahya al-Hulwani informed us; Suhayl ibn Uthman al-‘Askari informed us; ‘Ubaydah ibn Humayd informed us from ‘Ata’ ibn al-Sa’ib, from ‘Amr ibn Maymun, from ‘Abd Allah ibn Mas‘ud, from the Prophet, who said: “A woman among the people of Paradise will have the whiteness of her shin and its marrow visible through seventy silk garments. For Allah the Exalted says: ‘They will be like rubies and coral.’ As for the ruby, it is a stone such that, if you were to insert a wire into it and then make it perfectly clear, you would see it through the other side.” (2)
‘Amr ibn Maymun said: “One of the fair, wide-eyed maidens of Paradise will wear seventy garments, and the marrow of her shin will be visible through them, just as red wine is visible in a white glass bottle.” (3)

“So which of your Lord’s favors will you two deny? Is the reward for excellence anything but excellence?” That is, the recompense of one who does good in this world is none other than that he be treated well in the Hereafter. Ibn ‘Abbas said: “Is the recompense of one who says, ‘There is no god but Allah,’ and acts in accordance with what Muhammad brought, anything but Paradise?” (4)
