Surah al-Dhariyat (The Scattering Winds)
Meccan (1)
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy.
“By the scattering winds that scatter; by the clouds bearing heavy loads; by the ships sailing with ease; and by the angels distributing affairs: indeed, what you are promised is true, and the Judgment will surely come to pass.” (1–6)
(1) Ibn al-Durays, al-Nahhas, Ibn Mardawayh, and al-Bayhaqi, in al-Dala'il, reported from Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, that Surat al-Dhariyat was revealed in Mecca. See al-Durr al-Manthur, 7:613.
