“O mother of Bishr, the meal of Khaybar which I ate with your son at Khaybar has never ceased to trouble me; and now is the time when my aorta is being severed.” (1) The Muslims held that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, died a martyr, in addition to the honor of prophethood with which Allah had ennobled him.
“And another [favor] which you were unable to attain, but Allah has encompassed it. And Allah is over all things competent. And if those who disbelieve had fought you, they would have turned their backs in flight; then they would have found neither protector nor helper. This is the established way of Allah, which has occurred before; and you will never find any change in the way of Allah.” (21–23)
