Abd al-Wahid al-Mulayhi informed us; Ahmad ibn Abd Allah al-Nuaymi informed us; Muhammad ibn Yusuf informed us; Muhammad ibn Ismail narrated to us; Abd al-Aziz ibn Abd Allah narrated to me; Malik narrated to me from Safwan ibn Sulaym, from Ata ibn Yasar, from Abu Said al-Khudri, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said:
“Indeed, the inhabitants of Paradise will look upon the inhabitants of the lofty chambers above them as you look upon a brilliant star in the eastern or western horizon, because of the difference in rank between them.” They said, “O Messenger of Allah, those are the dwellings of the prophets, which no one besides them can attain.” He said, “Indeed, by Him in whose Hand is my soul, they are men who believed in Allah and affirmed the messengers.” (1)
“Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky and causes it to flow as springs in the earth? Then, by it, He brings forth crops of diverse colours; then they wither, and you see them turn yellow; then He makes them into debris. Surely in that is a reminder for people of understanding.” (21)
