Abu Sa‘id Ahmad ibn Ibrahim al-Shurayhi informed us; Abu Ishaq al-Tha‘labi informed us; Ibn Fanjawayh informed me; Ahmad ibn Ja‘far ibn Hamdan informed us; Ibrahim ibn Sahlawayh narrated to us ⦗99b⦘; ‘Ali ibn Muhammad al-Tanafisi narrated to us; Waki‘ narrated to us, from Thabit ibn Abi Safiyyah, from Asbagh ibn Nubatah, from ‘Ali, who said:
“Whoever wishes to receive the fullest measure of reward on the Day of Resurrection should make the final words he says before leaving a gathering: ‘Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of might, far above what they ascribe to Him. And peace be upon the messengers. And all praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all worlds.’” (1) (2)
(1) Ibn Kathir mentioned it in his Tafsir, 4:26, from Ibn Abi Hatim through a mursal chain (with a missing link), and said: “It has also been narrated through another connected chain as a mawquf report (attributed to a Companion) from Ali, may Allah be pleased with him.” He cited it from the compiler’s narration. Al-Suyuti, in al-Durr al-Manthur, 7:141, attributed it to Humayd ibn Zanjawayh in his al-Targhib. Its chain includes Asbagh ibn Nubatah. Abu Hatim said in al-Jarh wa al-Ta'dil, 2:320: “Weak in hadith.” Ibn Ma'in said: “He is of no consequence.”

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الشُّرَيْحِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الثَّعْلَبِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ فَنْجَوَيْهِ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ حَمْدَانَ، حدثنا إبراهيم ٩٩/ب بْنُ سَهْلَوَيْهِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الطَّنَافِسِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ أَبِي صَفِيَّةَ، عَنْ أَصْبُغَ بْنِ نُبَانَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ: "مَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يَكْتَالَ بِالْمِكْيَالِ الْأَوْفَى مِنَ الْأَجْرِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، فَلْيَكُنْ آخِرُ كَلَامِهِ مِنْ مَجْلِسِهِ: سُبْحَانَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ الْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ، وَسَلَامٌ عَلَى الْمُرْسَلِينَ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ" (١) (٢)
(١) ذكره ابن كثير في التفسير: ٤ / ٢٦ من رواية ابن أبي حاتم مرسلا، وقال: روي من وجه آخر متصل موقوف على علي ﵁ وساقه من رواية المصنف، وعزاه السيوطي في الدر المنثور: ٧ / ١٤١ لحميد بن زنجويه في ترغيبه. والحديث فيه أصبغ بن نباتة، قال أبو حاتم في الجرح والتعديل: ٢ / ٣٢٠: لين الحديث، وقال ابن معين: ليس بشيء.
