it is from Allah, “so that their hearts may humbly submit to it,” that is, so that their hearts may find rest in it. “Indeed, Allah surely guides those who believe to a straight path,” that is, an upright way: Islam.
“But those who disbelieve will not cease to be in doubt about it until the Hour comes upon them suddenly, or there comes upon them the punishment of a barren day.” (55)
أَنَّهُ مِنَ اللَّهِ، ﴿فَتُخْبِتَ لَهُ قُلُوبُهُمْ﴾ أَيْ: فَتَسْكُنَ إِلَيْهِ قُلُوبُهُمْ، ﴿وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَهَادِي الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ﴾ أَيْ: طَرِيقٍ قَوِيمٍ هُوَ الْإِسْلَامُ.
﴿وَلَا يَزَالُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي مِرْيَةٍ مِنْهُ حَتَّى تَأْتِيَهُمُ السَّاعَةُ بَغْتَةً أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَقِيمٍ (٥٥) ﴾
