Tafsir al-BaghawiAl-Baghawi

Fars, where he stayed for several days. Then he set out from there in the morning and halted at Kaskar; afterward, he journeyed on to Syria. His residence was in the city of Tadmor. Before departing from Syria for Iraq, he had commanded the devils to build it for him of stone slabs, pillars, and white and yellow marble. Concerning this, al-Nabighah said:

“Except for Solomon, when the Sovereign said to him:
‘Rise in the wilderness and secure it against ruin;
Muster the jinn, for I have permitted them
To build Tadmor with stone slabs and pillars.’”] (1)
