“Thus We relate to you some accounts of what has gone before, and We have certainly given you from Us a Reminder—the Quran. Whoever turns away from it will bear, on the Day of Resurrection, a heavy burden, remaining therein forever. Evil indeed will it be for them, on the Day of Resurrection, as a burden.” (99–101)
“Your God is only Allah—there is no god worthy of worship except Him. His knowledge encompasses all things.” That is, His knowledge encompasses everything.
“Thus We relate to you some accounts of what has gone before”: that is, of past events. “And We have certainly given you from Us a Reminder”: meaning the Quran. “Whoever turns away from it”: that is, from the Quran, neither believing in it nor acting upon what it contains, “will bear, on the Day of Resurrection, a heavy burden”: a weighty load of sin. “Remaining therein forever”: that is, abiding in the punishment of that burden. “Evil indeed will it be for them, on the Day of Resurrection, as a burden.” ⦗14/A⦘ That is, how evil is the sin they have loaded upon themselves through their disbelief in the Quran.
