Ibn ʿAbbās said: Indecency among acts of disobedience is that for which a fixed legal penalty is obligatory, while evil among sins is that for which there is no fixed legal penalty. Al-Suddī said: It is adultery. It was also said: It is miserliness. “And that you say about Allah what you do not know”: such as declaring crops and livestock forbidden.
