Abu Muhammad al-Jurjani informed us; Abu al-Qasim al-Khuza'i informed us; al-Haytham ibn Kulayb informed us; Abu Isa al-Tirmidhi related to us; Qutaybah ibn Sa'id related to us; Ibn Lahi'ah related to us from Abu Yunus, from Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, who said:
“I have seen nothing more beautiful than the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him; it was as though the sun coursed across his face. And I have seen no one quicker in his walk than the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him; it was as though the earth were folded up for him. We would exert ourselves to keep up with him, while he remained wholly untroubled.” (1)
“All of that—the evil of it—is hateful in the sight of your Lord.” (38)
(1) Recorded by al-Tirmidhi in al-Manaqib (Virtues), the chapter on the description of the Prophet, 10:131-132, who said: “This is a gharib hadith.” He also recorded it in al-Shamail, p. 85. Ibn Hibban authenticated it in Mawarid al-Zaman, pp. 521-522, and Ibn Sad recorded it in al-Tabaqat, 1:380. Its chain includes Ibn Lahi'ah, who is weak.
أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ الْجُرْجَانِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ الْخُزَاعِيُّ أَخْبَرَنَا الهيثم بن كليم حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عِيسَى التِّرْمِذِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي يُونُسَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ﵁ قَالَ: "مَا رَأَيْتُ شَيْئًا أَحْسَنَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَأَنَّ الشَّمْسَ تَجْرِي فِي وَجْهِهِ وَمَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا أَسْرَعَ فِي مَشْيِهِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَأَنَّمَا الْأَرْضُ تُطْوَى لَهُ إِنَّا لِنُجْهِدُ أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنَّهُ لَغَيْرُ مُكْتَرِثٍ" (١) .
﴿كُلُّ ذَلِكَ كَانَ سَيِّئُهُ عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ مَكْرُوهًا (٣٨) ﴾
(١) أخرجه الترمذي في المناقب باب في صفة النبي ﷺ: ١٠ / ١٣١-١٣٢، وقال: "هذا حديث غريب" وأخرجه في الشمائل ص (٨٥) وصححه ابن حبان ص (٥٢١-٥٢٢) من موارد الظمآن، وأخرجه ابن سعد في "الطبقات": ١ / ٣٨٠. وفيه ابن لهيعة وهو ضعيف.
