Saʿīd ibn Jubayr said: “They are kept far away.”
Muqātil said: “They are forsaken.”
Qatādah said: “They are hastened into the Fire.”
Al-Farrāʾ said: “They are sent ahead into the Fire.” This is also reflected in the Prophet’s saying: “I will precede you to the Basin.” (1) That is, I will go ahead of you.
“By Allah, We certainly sent messengers to nations before you, but Satan made their deeds seem fair to them. So he is their patron today, and theirs will be a painful punishment. (63) We have not sent down to you the Book except that you may make clear to them that over which they differed, and as guidance and mercy for a people who believe. (64)”

وَقَالَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ: مُبْعَدُونَ.
وَقَالَ مُقَاتِلٌ: مَتْرُوكُونَ.
قَالَ قَتَادَةُ: مُعَجَّلُونَ إِلَى النَّارِ.
قَالَ الْفَرَّاءُ: مُقَدَّمُونَ إِلَى النَّارِ، وَمِنْهُ قَوْلُهُ ﷺ: "أَنَا فَرَطُكُمْ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ" (١) أَيْ: مُتَقَدِّمُكُمْ.
﴿تَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَى أُمَمٍ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ فَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَعْمَالَهُمْ فَهُوَ وَلِيُّهُمُ الْيَوْمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ (٦٣) وَمَا أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ إِلَّا لِتُبَيِّنَ لَهُمُ الَّذِي اخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ (٦٤) ﴾
