Its meaning is: There is no one to whom obedience and worship are rendered except that this ceases with his passing away or destruction—except Allah, exalted is He. Obedience to Him endures and never ceases.
“Will you then fear other than Allah?” That is, will you fear? This is an interrogative expression of rebuke.
“Whatever blessing you have is from Allah. Then, when hardship touches you, to Him alone you cry out for help. Yet when He removes the hardship from you, behold, a group among you associate partners with their Lord.” (53–54)
مَعْنَاهُ: لَيْسَ مِنْ أَحَدٍ يُدَانُ لَهُ وَيُطَاعُ إِلَّا انْقَطَعَ ذَلِكَ عَنْهُ بِزَوَالٍ أَوْ هَلَاكٍ، غَيْرَ اللَّهِ ﷿، فَإِنَّ الطَّاعَةَ تَدُومُ لَهُ وَلَا تَنْقَطِعُ.
﴿أَفَغَيْرَ اللَّهِ تَتَّقُونَ﴾ أَيْ: تَخَافُونَ، اسْتِفْهَامٌ عَلَى طَرِيقِ الْإِنْكَارِ.
﴿وَمَا بِكُمْ مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ فَمِنَ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ إِذَا مَسَّكُمُ الضُّرُّ فَإِلَيْهِ تَجْأَرُونَ (٥٣) ثُمَّ إِذَا كَشَفَ الضُّرَّ عَنْكُمْ إِذَا فَرِيقٌ مِنْكُمْ بِرَبِّهِمْ يُشْرِكُونَ (٥٤) ﴾
