what (1) do the criminals know of what they are seeking to hasten and demand? It is like a man saying to another who has committed an evil deed, “What have you brought upon yourself?”
“Then, once it has come to pass, will you believe in it? Now, when you were seeking to hasten it? (51) Then it will be said to those who wronged themselves, ‘Taste the everlasting punishment. Are you recompensed except for what you used to earn?’ (52) And they ask you to inform them, ‘Is it true?’ Say, ‘Yes, by my Lord, it is indeed true, and you will not be able to escape.’ (53)”
