54 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us; he said: Hamzah ibn al-ʿAbbās narrated to me; ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥasan ibn Shaqīq informed us; Ibn ʿUyaynah narrated to us, from Abū Ḥamzah al-Thumālī, who said:

Al-Mughīrah ibn Shuʿbah declared, “A single report from a rational man is dearer to me than comb-honey mixed with the water of ar-Rasfa at the gravelly plain.”

ʿAlī added: ʿUbayd Allah ibn an-Nāzil further related to me, from Sufyān, who said: When these words reached Ziyād he remarked, “Indeed? Then it is dearer to me than a drink that utterly quenches one’s thirst.”
