Al-'Aql wa-FadluhIbn Abi al-Dunya

111 – Abu al-Faraj Muhammad narrated to us; Ahmad ibn ʿUthman al-Adami related to us; Muhammad ibn ʿUthman ibn Abi Shaybah transmitted to us; (so did) Ibrahim ibn Muhammad ibn Maymun al-Kindī, from Musʿab ibn Salam, from Ibn ʿAbbas—may Allah be pleased with him—who said:

The Messenger of Allah said, “O assembly of my brothers, give one another sincere counsel in matters of knowledge and let none of you conceal it from the others. A man’s offence against his own heart is graver than his offence against his wealth, and Allah will surely question you about it.”
