104 – Abu al-Faraj Muhammad ibn Yazid told us; al-Daqdaq related: “I was in the gathering of Ahmad ibn Ḥanbal, may Allah be pleased with him. A man said, ‘O Abu ʿAbd Allah, last night I saw Yazid ibn Harun in a dream. I asked him, “What has Allah done with you?” He replied, “He had mercy on me, forgave me, and reprimanded me.” I asked, “For what did He reprimand you?” He said, “O Yazid ibn Harun, why did you write from Ḥariz ibn ʿUthman?” I answered, “Lord of Might, I knew nothing about him except good.” He said, “He harbors hatred for Abu al-Hasan ʿAli ibn Abi Talib, peace be upon him.”’
