97 – Abu Bakr narrated to me: Muhammad ibn Idris related to us; al-Walid ibn Salih related to me; Abu Kathir al-Yamami reported that Wahb ibn Munabbih said: “The believer is a person who reflects and remembers. Whoever engages in remembrance will, in turn, reflect. His hallmark is serenity; he lives contentedly, so anxiety does not burden him. He gives up base desires and thus becomes truly free. He casts off envy, and love shines forth for him. He turns away from everything perishable, thereby perfecting his reason; and he yearns for all that endures, and thus comprehends true knowledge.”
