92 – Abu Bakr narrated to me: al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān transmitted, saying: Al-Muhallab ibn Abi Ṣufrah was asked, “By what means did you achieve what you have achieved?” He replied, “By obeying prudence and defying desire.”
