74 – ʿAbd Allah narrated to us, saying: “Ahmad ibn Maniʿ informed us; Ibn ʿUlayyah conveyed it; he said: Ibn Abī Najīḥ, on the authority of Mujāhid, explained the verse, ‘Obey Allah, obey the Messenger, and those in authority among you’ (Qur’an 4:59), saying: ‘[It refers to] those endowed with intellect and jurisprudential understanding of the religion of Allah.’”
