84 – (Sound). Among the reports concerning the night prayer is the ḥadith of ʿĀʾishah (may Allah be pleased with her). She said:
“When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ rose for the night prayer, he would begin it with these words:

‘O Allah, Lord of Gabriel, Michael, and Isrāfīl, Originator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the seen. You judge between Your servants regarding that in which they differ. Guide me, by Your permission, to the truth concerning that over which they differ, for You guide whom You will to a straight path.’”
