72 – (Ṣaḥīḥ) ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“When the muezzin says, ‘Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar (Allah is Most Great, Allah is Most Great),’ let one of you repeat, ‘Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar.’ When he says, ‘Ashhadu an lā ilāha illā Allah (I testify that there is no god but Allah),’ say, ‘Ashhadu an lā ilāha illā Allah.’ When he says, ‘Ashhadu anna Muḥammadan Rasūl Allah (I testify that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah),’ say, ‘Ashhadu anna Muḥammadan Rasūl Allah.’ When he says, ‘Ḥayya ʿala al-ṣalāh (Come to prayer),’ respond, ‘Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh (There is no power and no strength except with Allah).’ When he says, ‘Ḥayya ʿala al-falāḥ (Come to success),’ respond, ‘Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh.’ When he says, ‘Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar,’ repeat, ‘Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar,’ and when he says, ‘Lā ilāha illā Allah (There is no god but Allah),’ say, ‘Lā ilāha illā Allah’ from the heart. Whoever says it sincerely from his heart will enter Paradise.” ⦗95⦘
