Takhrij al-Kalim al-TayyibIbn Taimiya

42 – (sound) Al-Barāʾ ibn ʿĀzib, may Allah be pleased with him, related: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me,

“When you come to your bed, perform ablution as you do for prayer, then lie down on your right side and say:

‘O Allah, I have surrendered myself to You, I have turned my face toward You, I have entrusted my affairs to You, and I have sought refuge in You—hoping in You and fearing You. There is no refuge and no escape from You except by fleeing to You. I believe in Your Book which You have revealed and in Your Prophet whom You have sent.’

If you die during that night, you will die upon the pure, innate nature (fitrah). Let these be the last words you utter.”
