39 – (sound) Ibn ʿUmar (may Allah be pleased with them both) related that he instructed a man, when he lay down to sleep, to say:
“O Allah, You created my soul and You alone take it back; to You belong its death and its life. If You keep it alive, then guard it, and if You cause it to die, then forgive it. O Allah, I ask You for well-being.”
Ibn ʿUmar added, “I heard this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.”

قال ابن عمر: سمعته من رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم
