Sulayman ibn Surad said: I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when two men began hurling insults at one another. One of them grew so angry that his face turned red and the veins in his neck swelled. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “I know a phrase which, if he were to utter it, what he is experiencing would leave him. Were he to say, ‘A‘ūdhu billāhi min ash-shayṭān ar-rajīm (I seek refuge with Allah from Satan the Accursed),’ what he is experiencing would vanish.”
