22 – (Ḥasan Ṣaḥīḥ, good and sound) Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “O Messenger of Allah, teach me something I can say when I enter the morning and when I enter the evening.” He replied:
“Say: ‘O Allah, Knower of the unseen and the seen, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Lord and Sovereign of everything. I testify that there is no deity but You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of my own soul and from the evil of Satan and his snares.’”
In another wording: “and that I not commit wrong against myself or drag it onto a Muslim.”
Say this when you rise in the morning, when you enter the evening, and when you retire to your bed. ⦗70⦘
