181 – (Weak) ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿUmar, may Allah be pleased with them both, said:
Whenever the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was travelling and night began to fall, he would say:
“O earth, my Lord and your Lord is Allah. I seek refuge in Allah from your evil, the evil that is within you, the evil that has been created in you, and the evil that moves upon you. I seek refuge in Allah from the lion and from every black beast, from the serpent and the scorpion, from whoever inhabits this land, and from a parent and its offspring.” [148]
